Overview

The SK5340 and SK5341 are user-programmable HID-over-I2C keyboard encoder ASICs with an 8-row by 20-column matrix, one PWM backlight brightness output, a BLEN backlight enable output, and five keyboard lock-status LEDs. They support multimedia, user-defined function, macro, Fn, FnLock, NumLock-impacted and KeyLock keys.

SK5341 adds a hot-pluggable external PS/2 port for a standard 3-button, wheel or 5-button mouse. SK5340 provides the core HID-over-I2C keyboard interface without the external PS/2 mouse port.

Each device connects directly to a host I2C bus or works with an FTDI FT260 HID-over-I2C-to-USB bridge. The field-upgradable bootloader provides version anti-rollback and LMS post-quantum firmware signature authentication to support EU Cyber Resilience Act requirements.

All four package and model options share the same 48-pin assignment. Matrix settings, signed releases, firmware programming, model upgrades and design testing are supported by Sprintek FlexSuite tools.
